When for UNCUT! was born in 2009, no one would have expected that the idea behind it would encourage so many gamers to join us. From the original idea of informing our friends and their friends about censorship in games and of holding a small and quiet protest, a platform has been established that over 100.000 people from all over the world would visit to not only inform themselves about censorship in games, but also to have peaceful discussions about their most favorite hobby.
To be honest, much of this is still surreal to us, and it takes much more than just a few words to imagine 100.000 people. But to give you an example: there are only four sports stadiums in the world that we would all be able to fit all of us without any problems. Ohio State University’s Horseshoe Stadium, Pennsylvania State University’s Beaver Stadium, Michigan’s University Stadium, and Rungrado’s „1st of May” Stadium – but even then these stadiums would be almost filled to their limit.
But it is not only this almost unimaginable number of supporters that is hard to put into words. Also the fact that we managed to develop for UNCUT! into a platform that is in contact with developers, publishers and, last but not least, representatives of USK, BPjM and Co., as well as some well-known lawyers, still makes for some of the greatest „what the hell…?!“ moments we can think of.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We would therefore like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the great support you have given us over the past few years. You rock!
Our special thanks goes to all those who have financially supported us since the start of our website at the end of last month in the form of a donation, and those who have purchased their games at Gamesplanet while using our partner link. You really help us to put our next steps into action, even if we still have some months of collecting to do.
We are looking forward to the next eight years!
